Colgate Slim Soft Toothbrush Review

I may trade in my toothbrush after using the colgate slimSoft just once! No, really. I’m impressed.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. But believe me, if I don’t like the products I get from companies, I’m not gonna say that I do.

colgate slimsoft According to the Colgate website, “in Thailand, where the tapered bristle segment is growing at a double-digit rate, strong sales of Colgate Slim Soft toothbrush drove Colgate’s share of the manual toothbrush category to a record high for the year. Based on this success, Colgate Slim Soft toothbrush will be rolled out globally in 2013.” Well, it’s late in 2013 so I assume I’m part of the last phase of rollout, but I’m still impressed!

Before I tell you about this new fangled, impressive, toothbrush, let me explain how averse I am to actually brushing my teeth. My family has a bad gene for teeth, so my teeth are not in good shape and they never have been no matter how much I take care of them. I dislike flossing even more. Those are all even more of a reason why I’m impressed with this Colegate slimsoft toothbrush.

I had not seen or heard about this new toothbrush anywhere. Not on TV or in the local stores. It might be there, but I probably overlooked it for the price point (not that I know how much these cost). My experience has led me to think that no toothbrush will do a good job because none of them have done much for me.

I got this brush out of the box the other night and along with the Barbie toothbrush I’d just bought for my daughter, we started brushing our teeth. We only use water, sometimes salt, because we hate the taste of toothpaste. We both have sensory issues. She has diagnosed autism, but I don’t. I just don’t like the taste!

But, I noticed immediately a difference with this Colgate SlimSoft brush. Here’s what I found;

  • My gums weren’t bleeding as much as normal.
  • It did sting a bit.
  • It has a slimmer head, more like a child’s brush. This is GREAT for me! I have a small mouth.
  • My teeth were visibly cleaner and whiter after just one brushing.
  • When I flossed, there was little if anything on the floss. As if, the brush had gotten what floss usually gets.

According to the Colgate site, ”

HOW IT WORKS

The new Colgate® Slim Soft has 17x slimmer tip bristles than ordinary toothbrushes to remove plaque effectively. The easy to manoeuvre flexible compact head reaches 6x deeper for deep, gentle cleaning in hard-to-reach places between teeth and along the gum line.

In conclusion, I think it’s pretty cool. Actually, I just brushed again with it, and I’m still impressed.
